What is Community?
Community is a group of safe, trusted, and loving people who truly know you. They are the ones you confide in about spiritual growth, confess to, pray with, and meet with regularly. Community isn’t about being with your best friends, though that’s a great byproduct; it’s about surrounding yourself with people who strengthen your faith and point you to Jesus - it’s the people who will pick up your mat, carry you to the roof, dig through the ceiling, and lower you in front of Jesus.
How will we practice Community?
We’ll practice community by showing up consistently and genuinely, supporting and encouraging each other, sharing what we’re learning and what we’re struggling with, and through confession and prayer. We’ll use these three questions (taken from JP Pokluda) when we meet:
How did you feed your soul (input)
How did you feed others (output)
How did you feed your flesh (confession)
And we’ll end with a time of prayer around what was shared and any additional prayer requests from the group. (James 5:16)
