What is Discipleship?

Discipleship is union with Christ - knowing God (experiencing His love) & loving Him in return, resulting in God being who and what we desire most.

Discipleship is following Christ - knowing the Word and allowing it to renew our minds and transform our hearts, resulting in our willingness to obey, not out of obligation, but because our love for Him compels us to. (John 14:21, 23-24)

Discipleship is about union and intimacy with God; it’s about a relationship rooted in deep love, not rules.

How will we practice Discipleship?

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Matthew 28:19-20

We’ll practice discipleship by teaching ourselves and others to look to Scripture to instruct how we live and what we believe based on what God has said (commanded) in his word. We’ll learn to obey those commands by applying them to every part of our daily lives. We practice discipleship by knowing and following the ways and truth of Christ. (Luke 9:23; John 8:31-32, John 15:9-11)
